A comprehensive filter for neutral density and polarization, this 2- to 5-stop Peter McKinnon Chroma VND/PL Black Mist Filter from PolarPro fits into the Helix Maglock filter system and leverages newly designed Chroma Glass to create a filter with independently controlled elements for neutral density and polarization in a bi-rotational design. The new glass also incorporates black particles to provide 1/4 grade strength of bloomed highlights, color depth, and rich, dark shadows. The new filters improve color accuracy as well, only incurring the variance resulting from polarization.

The neutral density filter allows users to reduce exposure values to achieve various effects, while polarizers reduce glare and reflections to give an image a sharp, clean look. In addition to the space-saving combination of these functions, PolarPro has also improved the tactile experience of using the filter, incorporating ball bearings at each stop to lock the VND setting into place. The filter also features 16 layers of anti-scratch, anti-reflective, and anti-fingerprint coatings.
